The main research focus of our group is on organometallic chemistry of s- and f-block metals. Together with improving our fundamental understanding of these elements and their coordination chemistry, we are interested in their application in small molecule activation, C-H activation chemistry, sustainable synthesis and catalysis.

Our methodologies are based on advanced Schlenk line and glovebox techniques. To gain further insight into the physicochemical properties of our compounds, we perform comprehensive analyses and characterisations using a variety of spectroscopic and analytical techniques, e.g. single crystal X-ray crystallography, multinuclear NMR specstroscopy, UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy, EPR spectroscopy, SQUID magnetometry, cyclic voltammetry.
